Our Northern Suburbs

The State Government has asked residents to vote on whether they support the transfer of the Northern Suburbs to the Rockhampton Region.

From 15 June, the Electoral Commission Queensland (ECQ) sent out a letter to every enrolled elector in the Rockhampton Region, the Northern Suburbs, and Livingstone Shire.

The letter includes information about the poll, as well as a unique code that you will need to use to vote.

By voting ‘Yes’ to bringing the Northern Suburbs home to Rockhampton, you’re voting ‘Yes’ to the future of our region.

You’re voting ‘Yes’ to more jobs, more services, more voices for our community and more people to share the load.

This is our chance to vote ‘Yes’ to a bigger and better region that’s fairer for everyone.

Support the proposed transfer of Glenlee, Rockyview and Glendale from Livingstone Shire Council to Rockhampton Regional Council.

The time has now come to Vote 'Yes' to bring them home!

Why should I vote 'Yes'?

This is an opportunity to shape the future of our region and it is in your hands. Your vote is crucial in telling the State Government that we want a bigger and better future for our community.

They work here. They learn here. They shop here. They play here. They meet here. They've said they want to be here three times.

Their lives are our lives – they spend their time here in our Region.

We already provide the infrastructure and services for them because we know they are more a part of our community than they are Livingstone’s. And they want to be part of ours.

A vote 'Yes' in this poll will unlock growth. It will help secure the future of our Region because it gives us the room we need to grow.

The Northern Suburbs means more people for our Region. More people. More services. More infrastructure.

This public poll is your opportunity to fight for our Region. So vote 'Yes' for a bigger and better Rockhampton Region.
