National Tree Day
National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature care event. It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.
One of the best things about National Tree Day is watching the trees planted from previous years grow and mature into flourishing, green areas that our community and visitors can enjoy every day and for years to come.
Rockhampton Regional Council registers a number of local tree planting sites each year that you can join. You can participate as an individual, community group, business or school group.

Rockhampton Regional Council is encouraging all green thumbs to save the date Sunday 1 August 2021, as a day to unite and dig in, at tree planting events across the region during National Tree Day.
