ABHA CAP COAST BARREL RACING CIRCUIT

Is a barrel racing circuit in the Rockhampton district, affiliated with the national organisation, Australian Barrel Horse Association.  ABHA Cap Coast meet at minimum once a month for 10 months of the calendar year.  We have a end of years points and awards finals, usually staged in November each year.  The circuit also stage a major national barrel racing event, known as the ABHA Cap Coast Classic which is one of the richest two day barrel racing events in the nation.  Our Classic event features a Futurity Event, where competitors travel from far and wide to compete with their young horses between the ages of 4-6 years, at a chance to win prize money, trophy saddles and national acclaim. At the ABHA Cap Coast competitions we have a Divisional Open Barrel Race, Pee Wee events, Junior Youth and Senior Youth.  The event is a speed event with electronic clocks to record the timed runs.  Barrel racing is also a very family orientated horse sport and we have three generations members competing with the club.
