Tickets for Round 20 of the National Rugby League (NRL) Telstra Premiership between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons will be going on sale at 2:00pm tomorrow, Tuesday 27 July via Rockhampton Regional Council’s explorerockhampton.com.au website.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said it’s great to see an NRL premiership round being held in the Rockhampton region.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be Hosting Round 20 NRL premiership game in Rockhampton and an incredible opportunity for our community to embrace the NRL in their own backyard,” Mayor Williams said.

“With home-grown heroes such as Ben Hunt returning to the region to play, it’s going to be a fantastic game to watch and I’m sure we will see Browne Park at capacity.”

Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Greg Bowden said this game will create history for Rockhampton being the first time an NRL game has been played in Central Queensland.

“Having two significant NRL clubs playing in Rockhampton will definitely create interest for visitors from across Queensland and it will create another opportunity for locals to enjoy major events in our City,” Mr Bowden said.

“Rocky will well and truly be on the radar this weekend, and with home-grown heroes returning to their region to play the game it will be a great battle between two top eight teams.”

Queensland Rugby League Central Region Manager Rob Crow said he is excited to host the Round 20 NRL Telstra Premiership game at Browne Park, home of the CQ Capras.

“As one of Rockhampton’s premier rugby league grounds, Browne Park is the perfect facility to host the Round 20 NRL Telstra Premiership game between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons,” Mr Crow said.

“It will be great to have Ben Hunt return to his home region to play as Captain of the Dragons and Hook Griffin as Coach, and we can’t wait to host two top eight teams on the NRL Telstra Premiership ladder at the grounds.”

The Round 20 game will be held at Rockhampton’s Browne Park on Saturday 31 July, starting at 3:00pm.

Event capacity is 5,000 with General Admission tickets ranging from $33-$55 and Allocated Seating tickets starting from $80.  

Tickets will be available for purchase online only via www.explorerockhampton.com.au at 2:00pm tomorrow, Tuesday 27 July.
