Call for charity recipient for 2022 Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight
Published on 19 September 2022
The call has gone out for local charitable organisations to register their interest to be the fundraising recipient for this year’s Rockhampton Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight.
One charity is selected each year to receive ticket proceeds and donations, which go towards local projects or services.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said Carols by Candlelight had raised in excess of $200,000 over the years, which has helped those in need in Rockhampton Region through a variety of local charities.
“Money donated through Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight has given a significant boost to many local charities in past years, and helped them continue their good work,” he said.
“Even when times are tough, concert goers still dig deep and give what they can, knowing that their donations will help those in need in this region.
“I urge any location organisations who fit the criteria to submit and expression of interest,” he said.
To be considered, the recipient organisation must meet the following criteria:
- Be based in Rockhampton or service the people of the Rockhampton Regional Council area
- Be a registered, incorporated or a not-for-profit organisation
- The money donated to the selected charity must be used for a specific activity or purchase, which must be detailed in the application.
Other conditions may apply. See the application form for eligibility criteria and information.
