An impressive three day program has been released for The National Economic Development Conference (NEDC) which will bring the brightest minds in Economic Development to Rockhampton in October.

The conference is the biggest forum for economic development practitioners across the country and allows delegates to share knowledge regarding latest trends and best practice in building prosperity among Australian communities.

This years’ program will focus on disruptive technology and job creation with presentations from national and global experts in investment attraction, industry development, competitiveness, market development, place activation and productivity.

Key-note speakers include Mark Bouris AM, Chris Helder, and Neil Glentworth who will deliver practical skills, advice, techniques and best practice case studies for business success.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said hosting the NEDC provides the city an opportunity to show what Council has been doing in the innovation and economic development space.

“This is a real coup for our city to host Australia’s most significant Economic Development Conference with a long list of influential leaders from government and private sectors who will share advice on how regional centres like ours can stimulate innovation and economic growth,” Mayor Strelow said.

“Conferences are great short term boosts for our hotel and hospitality providers, but the real strength in hosting the NEDC is to brainstorm with economic leaders about our own opportunities.

“I once again applaud Council’s Advance Rockhampton team for working hard to attract this event to the city.”

The NEDC conference will be held at the Pilbeam Theatre from October 16 - 19. Early bird tickets are available until 31st August.
