Small businesses in the Rockhampton Region are being given access to the tools needed to compete in the digital world thanks to Rockhampton Regional Council and the Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS).

Advance Rockhampton, the Economic Development arm of Rockhampton Regional Council, has partnered with ASBAS and Regional Development Australia to bring a series of high quality workshops to the Region, including online marketing, search engine optimisation, and how to use social media to engage with customers.

Rockhampton Regional Mayor, Margaret Strelow, said the program was an excellent opportunity for local businesses to learn or improve digital skills – a vital part of running a 21st century business.

“Once again Advance Rockhampton is delivering the goods when it comes to supporting those who operate businesses in our Region,” Mayor Strelow said.

“I am especially pleased that we will not only be holding some of these workshops in our CBD at our wonderful SmartHub, but also up in Mount Morgan where I know we have some excellent small businesses.

“The cost of a two hour workshop is just under $19, so I would encourage any business in our Region with fewer than 20 employees to get registered as soon as possible – we are expecting the sessions to be incredibly popular!”

The sessions will take place between February 28 and June 20 in Customs House and the Mount Morgan School of Arts. ASBAS Digital Solutions Qld workshops are in partnership with Advance Rockhampton and RDA Fitzroy & Central West. For more information and to register, click here.
