Heritage Festival – two days of antiques and collectables

Rockhampton Heritage Festival ‘Collectique’– two days of antiques and collectables!

It’s on again – Rockhampton Heritage Village’s Heritage Festival – featuring the popular Antiques and Collectables Fair - will be held on 1-2 June.

Last year, lovers of antiques and collectables came from far and wide to sell swap and buy everything from art deco lamps and tin toys to 1950s collectables, tools and elegant crystal glassware, jewellery – and much more in between.

Dealers and collectors from all over Queensland will be there and there is even the opportunity for the public to de-stash and make some extra cash with the Trash and Treasure markets (on Sunday only).

And for just $5 per item (in addition to entry fee) the public can have an antique or curio valued by a licensed dealer.

There will also be live demonstrations of vanishing trades (on Sunday). And for the first time at the Heritage Festival, Mora-Igra will display the century old process behind her hand-crafted umbrellas.

Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council’s Communities Committee, Cr Rose Swadling, said that the Heritage Festival’s antiques theme was a great drawcard to the event last year.

“Based on last year’s attendance, clearly many people have a keen interest in antiques and collectables,” she said

“This is a great event to come and browse. And of course it is held in the very appropriate setting of the Heritage Village,” she said.

The Heritage Festival is a Rockhampton Regional Council event, supported by the Friends of the Heritage Village. It will be held at the Rockhampton Heritage Village on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June from 9am. Entry is $8 per day, with under 14 year olds free.
