Have your say on how Council manages invasive plants, animals and weeds in our region by completing a survey before 5pm Friday 2 September.

Planning and Regulation Councillor Grant Mathers said Council is in the process of updating its Biosecurity Plan and is seeking community input.

“Our Biosecurity Plan guides how we manage invasive species within our region,” Cr Mathers said.

“Council has created a draft plan for the next four years, and we want to ensure that it’s right for our community.

“Through this survey we’re seeking to understand what your biggest biosecurity concerns are – whether that’s weed control on rural roads or animal control in recreational areas.

“We’re also asking what options for education or incentives you would like to see, as well as any feedback you have on the entire draft plan.

“Biosecurity is the responsibility of everyone in our region, and we want to ensure that everyone has a chance to have input.”
