Guess who’s coming to CapriCon?
Published on 24 March 2017
Hey steampunkers, gamers, animers and cosplayers… guess who’s coming to CapriCon 2017?
Good Game and Spawn Point host, actor, writer, and general all-round good guy Steven ‘Bajo’ O’Donnell!
If you haven’t heard of Bajo and his mighty feats as a gaming critic, then you’ll have every chance to meet him at Rockhampton Regional Library’s CapriCon 2017 on Saturday 8 April.
Council’s Community Services Chair Councillor Rose Swadling said CapriCon’s special guest is just one of the highlights of this year’s event.
“Steven ‘Bajo’ O’Donnell is a celebrity in the gaming world after hosting ABC’s Good Game show for nearly ten years and current host of Spawn Point, so there’s no doubt he’ll share some great tales as CapriCon’s guest speaker on the day,” Cr Swadling said.
“We’ve also attracted more than 20 stall holders from comic stalls, medieval and pirate groups to costumers and steampunk groups, so there’s bound to be something for all enthusiasts.”
CapriCon 2017 will also include costume competitions and prizes, panel discussions on cosplay, anime drawing and steampunk authors, food and drinks, a free photo booth and chill-out zones.
Steven 'Bajo' O'Donnell is an Australian television presenter, actor, MC, children’s author and video game critic.
He's mostly known for his Television presenting work, hosting the weekly ABC video game review shows Good Game (2007-2016), and children's version Spawn Point (2010-ongoing).
During this time, he has grown to become one of the most well-known video game critics and speakers in Australia, attending conventions and speaking at corporate and public events on a regular basis.
Steven recently co-created and played the lead in the Sci-Fi narrative comedy Trip For Biscuits, a Screen Australia and ABC ME co-production (due out March 2017).
In 2016, in conjunction with Scholastic, Steven co-wrote the children's Book series Pixel Raiders. Eight Books have been commissioned, and it has recently been sold into US distribution.
Steven's other interests lie in improvisational comedy, motorbikes, technology, video games, and science fiction.
