Rockhampton Cultural Festival – Saturday 25 August

Published on 12 July 2018

Exotic music, food from across the globe, colourful costumes and more…it’s a time to celebrate the Region’s diversity at the Rockhampton Cultural Festival on Saturday 25 August.

Rockhampton Regional Council’s Community Services Committee Chair Cr Rose Swadling said that last year’s change to a late afternoon / evening timeslot proved to be very popular among festival goers, so organisers are building on that success this year.

“The Cultural Festival will run from 3pm to 9pm, giving people a chance to not only tempt their tastebuds with a wide variety of exotic foods at dinner time, but also enjoy our lustrous lanterns under the stars,” she said.

“Of course, there will also be live music and dance from far away places as well as workshops, demonstrations, parade of nations and other activities.

“The Cultural Festival coincides with Seniors Week, so it is a lovely way to finish the week with a great family evening of fun, food and festival activities for all ages,” Cr Swadling said.
