Be part of Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight

If you would like to be part of one of our Region’s favourite Christmas events, Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight, then Rockhampton Regional Council would like to hear from you.

Council is calling for expressions of interest for a Creative Director and vocalists for the popular concerts.

The Creative Director is responsible for the overall artistic vision of the show and for bringing it all together from first rehearsal through to opening night.

Vocalists are also required to perform a variety of traditional and contemporary Christmas carols and songs.

Rockhampton Mayor Tony Williams said that Carols by Candlelight has always been a great showcase event for local performers.

“Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight is a great community event, which is much anticipated throughout the region. Not only does it raise money each year for a local charity, but it also gives our local performers a chance to shine.

“So, if you have some experience as a creative director or as a vocalist, we would love to hear from you,” he said.

Rehearsals will begin in late September. Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight will be held at the Pilbeam Theatre on Wednesday 6 December 2023 and at the Rockhampton Music Bowl on Saturday 9 December.

Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight is a Rockhampton Regional Council event, supported by local businesses.
