Rockhampton Regional Council is thrilled to welcome award-winning Australian crime author Chris Hammer to the Southside Library on Saturday 8 October.

Communities and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said securing the visit is a big win for local fans of Hammer’s work.

“These author events have always been popular, and we are so excited to host Chris Hammer and hear about his new book The Tilt,” Cr Wickerson said.

“Chris Hammer is a leading Australian crime fiction novelist and the internationally bestselling author of Scrublands, and Treasure and Dirt. His latest book The Tilt is the second in the Nell Buchanan series, and I expect it to be a fantastic read.

“All of Chris’ books have atmospheric Australian settings, a range of colourful characters, intricate plots, descriptive language and emotional depth.

“If you would like to read his previous books, visit our libraries - you can access them in various formats, including physical books, audiobooks, eBooks and eAudiobooks.

“I encourage you to come along to this wonderful event.

“Sit back and listen to Chris talk about his new book, chat with other keen readers and purchase copies of Chris’ book from the pop-up QBD Rockhampton store at the library - and don’t forget to have them signed by the author!”

All are welcome to this free event, but bookings are required. Contact the Libraries Administration office on 4936 8043 to book your seat.

This visit to Rockhampton has been kindly sponsored by Allen & Unwin Publishing and OverDrive.
