2019 Adani Rockhampton River Festival road closure details

The countdown to the 2019 Adani Rockhampton River Festival is on!

This year’s Festival will be held along Rockhampton’s riverside precinct from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 July. The footprint of this year’s festival will be the largest yet, with Quay Street, the lower banks and laneways set to come alive with an eclectic mix of art exhibitions and instalments, cultural activities, food and market vendors, as well as world class entertainment including music, stage and street performances.

FESTIVAL OPENING HOURS:

Friday 12 July: 5pm - 10.30pm

Saturday 13 July: 10am - 10.30pm

Sunday 14 July: 10am - 4pm

RELAXED PARKING:

Council will relax timed parking restrictions from Tuesday 9th July  to the 16th July on the following areas;

Suspended on street parking patrols 9th-16th July

  • Bolsover Street between Archer Street and Debry Street;
  • Archer Street between Alma Street and Victoria Parade;
  • William Street between Alma Street and East Street;
  • Derby Street between Alma Street and East Street; and
  • Alma Street between Fitzroy Street and Debry Street.

 Other restrictions such as loading zones, disabled parking, footpath parking or any other restriction that is not a timed restriction, will remain enforced.

Normal Parking Patrols

On street parking limits and patrols apply as normal to all other streets including East Street.

Free Parking 9th-16th July

  • Pilbeam Theatre Car Park, Cnr of Bolsover Street and Cambridge Street; and 
  • Alma Street Car Park, Cnr of Alma Street and Derby Street.

Road Closure information:

For the safety of the community and event organisers, a number of road closures and traffic management changes will be required ahead of, during and after this year’s Festival.

To minimise inconvenience to businesses and residents, road closures will be in effect for the minimal amount of time as safely possible, with roads closed and reopened in stages.

EMERGENCY SERVICES WILL HAVE 24/7 ACCESS DURING ROAD CLOSURES AND CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS

We appreciate changed traffic conditions affect businesses and residents in the Festival area. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and our personnel will work closely with the community to minimise any impact.  

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution and observe all signs and traffic directions.
