Rockhampton Regional Council’s desire is to ensure our communities are receiving the very best value for money. The 2009/2010 Budget is focussed on disciplined planning for our future generations, demonstrating our commitment to sound corporate governance and prudent financial management practices.
The disciplined approach of this budget will help us achieve one of the goals set out in our Corporate Plan, of being independently rated a Financially Strong Council.
We have continued our commitment to improving services and facilities within the region, and to maintaining and improving our critical infrastructure with total operating revenues of $172 million; total operating expenditure (including depreciation) of $178 million; and capital operations of $147 million.
This budget acts upon our vision to be the most liveable community in the world and commits to our financial sustainability - now and into the future.
