Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008
The Act has been introduced to establish a consistent approach to animal management in Queensland. In particular it aims to reduce the numbers of stray and unwanted animals euthanised each year, as well as developing an effective and consistent approach to managing dangerous, menacing and restricted dogs.
Changes for the Rockhampton Region from July 1, 2009 will relate to regulated dogs only.
Other changes will be introduced in the coming year, however these changes will be well communicated prior to any introduction.
