Amazing animals abound at Rockhampton Zoo. Check out the cheeky chimps, watch the waddling wombats, hear the howling dingoes or simply get up close and personal with the koalas – there’s something for everyone and best of all it’s free!

Nestled within the Botanic Gardens and adjacent to the Murray Lagoon, Rockhampton Zoo is home to over 50 species of native animals from across Australia and exotic animals from around the world! It’s the perfect place for families to see animals in their natural surroundings.

Visitors can experience magnificent, cheeky, fun and fearless creatures great and small from birds in their magnificent aviary and dingoes in their dens to snakes and crocs in their enclosures.

Visit the Australian Walkabout  Zone and experience the friendly mob of grey kangaroos and agile wallabies. You'll find animals native to Central Queensland.

There’s feeding shows during the day and our animal keepers are on hand to answer your questions. It’s an exciting day for the whole family at Rockhampton Zoo.
