Tourist Information
The Rockhampton Tourist Information Centre is located at the Tropic of Capricorn Spire Gladstone Rd, Rockhampton. A tourism information centre is also located at the Rockhampton Heritage Village on the Bruce Highway.
The Capricorn Coast Tourist Information Centre is located at the Ross Creek Roadabout, Scenic Highway,Yeppoon.
The Mount Morgan Tourist Information Centre is located in Railway Parade, Mount Morgan.

Culture and Diversity
The Rockhampton Region has a rich culture and diversity that promotes multiculturalism in the community and provides locals and visitors alike the opportunity to explore and enjoy the diversity of the area.
The Region welcomes people from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious and political backgrounds who make the Region their home. Council acknowledges this richness in culture together with the social and economic well being that Rockhampton shares as a result of such diversity.
There are a number of cultural experiences in the Rockhampton Region, including:
- The Walter Reid Cultural Centre is home to various cultural, arts and crafts groups and a venue for a wide range of performances.
- Visit the Rockhampton Art Gallery and enjoy a little culture including a significant Australian Art collection, an enviable Japanese collection, as well as ceramics, glass and textile pieces. The Gallery also looks for opportunities to add the works of artists who have made contributions, not only to art in Australia, but also to other cultures of relevance to our community.
- Experience Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre, with a guided tour, including boomerang throwing and didgeridoo playing.
- If you're in Rockhampton during April, join in the Taste of the World - a multicultural expo organised by the Central Queensland Multicultural Association Inc.
- The Region's history also contributes to the rich culture of the area, and the historical architecture in Rockhampton is a major tourist drawcard.
- Visitors and locals can also experience Rockhampton's heritage at the Rockhampton Heritage Village. It is an active township museum and is a unique recreation of original buildings, homesteads and businesses from the 100-year period between 1850 and 1950.
- The Region is also home to the Archer Park Rail Museum. The historic railway station museum has exhibits of railway memorabilia and offers visitors the opportunity to ride on the historic Purrey Steam Tram on Sundays.
