If you are currently operating a startup or have a well-formed business concept and plan, this program could be your next leap forward.

Startup Stars Program

Startup Stars is an immersive mentorship program that aims to empower selected entrepreneurs to rapidly scale their businesses and reach international markets.

Mark Phillips from Business in Bare Feet will facilitate the program. Business in Bare Feet is a business, startup, sales, marketing and investment mentorship group who specialise in assisting, guiding and coaching startups in modern rapid development business growth techniques.

It will involve a cohort style assistance scheme wherein up to six chosen entrepreneurs will participate.

This program is sponsored by Rockhampton Regional Council and valued at $15,000. This includes all mentoring and training costs; personal business expenses will not be covered.

Program Details

Duration: Six month period
Dates: July - December 2017
Facilitated by: Mark Phillips
Training Style: A combination of face-to-face workshops and training sessions as well as remotely provided support and assistance via videoconferencing, telephone and online mediums. Introductions and meetings between entrepreneurs and key partners, such as investors and prospective customers will also be provided where applicable. 
Activities undertaken will fall into the following categories: Educating; Guiding; Training; and Practicing.

How to Apply for Startup Stars

1. Complete the Startup Stars Program Application Form
2. Email the completed form to Smart Hub Manager Elize Hattin at smarthub@rrc.qld.gov.au
3. Applications will be assessed by the Smart Hub team. Ten finalists will be selected and notified by phone and email to pitch their idea. From this, the final six will then be selected.
4. Successful finalists will be awarded with a Startup Stars certificate (please note: this certificate cannot be exchanged for funds).
