Sport and Recreation Clubs

Council’s Sport and Education Services supports and develops local sport and recreation clubs, and educates the community regarding the benefits of maintaining good health through the KickStartCQ initiative.

KickStartCQ provides free or low cost activities for the community by promoting the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.  

They also work with sport and recreation clubs across the Region helping more than 300 groups to build their profile and improve their services.

The KickStartCQ website provides easy to understand, relevant information to clubs including information on:

  • grants and funding
  • regular updates from forums and information sessions
  • assistance with development of policies and plans
  • details on applying and renewing tenure and more.

South Rockhampton
Access is adjacent to the Leichardt Rowing Club, South Rockhampton South Rockhampton – access off Lion Creek Road via Huet Street (freshwater access).

North Rockhampton 
Access is at the end of Larcombe Street via Glenmore Road and Macalister Street, near barrage.

Access at the end of Reaney Street, via Bridge Street and Goodsall Street (saltwater access).
