Rockhampton Regional Waste & Recycling is a commercial business unit of Rockhampton Regional Council. It encompasses all activities and services that revolve around the collection of waste and recyclables from 240L mobile (wheelie) bins, the disposal of waste and waste minimisation.

Waste Management Facilities Review
Waste Management Facilities across the region are currently being reviewed to ensure that residents of Rockhampton Regional Council receive the most appropriate and cost effective method of waste disposal facility for their community's needs.
The review will look at the current location of all Waste Management Facilities including Landfills, Waste Transfer Stations, Roadside Bin Stations and Capricorn Coast Recycling Drop Off Points in relation to the communities they service.
The review will ensure that there are appropriate and cost effective Waste Management Facilities in location to best service the changing population and waste generation habits of the communities of Rockhampton Regional Council.
Community consultation sessions will be scheduled for early 2012 and will be held in the following localities:
- Farnborough
- Bungundarra
- Alton Downs
- Wycarbah
- Stanwell
- Bouldercombe
- Struck Oil
- Bajool
- Ogmore
- Cawarral
- Nerimbera.
The specific location, date and time of each session are yet to be confirmed. Residents that live nearby waste management facilities or who may be impacted by possible changes will be notified once sessions have been scheduled.
