Rockhampton Regional Council is responsible for city maintenance throughout the Rockhampton Region which includes providing services such as street cleaning, tree clearing and maintenance and the clean up of vandalism. Litter

Littering is an offence subject to on-the-spot fines under the Environmental Protection Act. Dropping a small quantity of litter can attract a fine of $150. 

Tree Clearing

Council has a Local Law to protect trees from being removed needlessly.

If you are planning to remove any tree with a girth of 100cm or more (at the base of the tree) you should check with Council as approval may be required before that tree can be removed.

If you have a problem with a tree on a footpath, contact Council's Customer Service Centre on 1300 22 55 77.  

Vandalism 

Vandalism is a serious problem and its cost to ratepayers in repair and restoration work is increasing and always a concern.

Council encourages members of the public who witness any act of vandalism on public property to notify either the Police on 4932 1500 or Councils Customer Service Centre on 1300 22 55 77. 

Signs - Advertising

Advertising signs must be licensed.

All enquiries concerning the construction of large signs or the licensing of signs should be directed to our Customer Service Centre on 1300 22 55 77 to ascertain what building approvals may be required.

Adverstising signs on a property for a third party may require Town Planning approval and these enquiries should also be directed to our Customer Service Centre on 1300 22 55 77.
