We all know pets provide companionship, unconditional love, loyalty and entertainment but becoming a pet owner is a huge responsibility.  Getting a new pet is a long term commitment and there are several costs associated.  You should consider your lifestyle and family’s needs before making a pet purchase. 

You need to consider the breed, size and temperament of the animal and its dietary, exercise, health and hygiene requirements.  You must also provide an adequate enclosure for your pet.  A cat or dog may not be the right pet for you and your family. 

Enjoy your pet but ensure you manage it in a way that does not create a nuisance or risk to other people, animals or wildlife.
