Note: In accordance with s12(4)(h) of the Local Government Act 2009, His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Carter has been appointed as an ex-officio member to the Strategic Planning Committee.

Responsibilities:

The following is a list of functions assigned to the Strategic Planning Committee:

Building and plumbing legislation and policy
Development assessment
Development and land use related legislation and policy
Infrastructure planning and charging
Land Use Planning
Building Compliance in terms of:
- Building Act 1975 and respective Regulation/s; and
- Integrated Planning Act 1997 and respective Regulation/s
Plumbing and Drainage policy matters as prescribed by the relevant Act and regulations
Waterways and catchment management
Development Compliance in terms of:
- the respective planning schemes of the former Rockhampton City Council, Livingstone Shire Council, Fitzroy Shire Council and Mount Morgan Shire Council, as well as the development compliance with any future developed planning scheme for the Rockhampton Regional Council; and
- Integrated Planning Act 1997 and respective Regulation/s.

Note: The Strategic Planning Committee makes recommendations to the Ordinary Council meeting. The Strategic Planning Committee has no delegated authority.
