Be simultaneously enchanted and astonished with the endless variety of ticketed events at Rockhampton River Festival from Friday 14 July to Sunday 16 July 2017.

With the concept and theme Being so large it is intimate, Rockhampton River Festival is reviving the 1920’s through to the 1940’s with a range of ticketed events and a program line-up that will make you think you stepped onto a Bonnie and Clyde movie set.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said the aim of this years’ festival was to take visitor senses to new heights, allowing the revival of our great CBD and Region to happen in more ways than one.

“This year the Rockhampton River Festival revives our history by playing on the unconventional mixed with musical, artistry, literary and spiritual pursuits,” Mayor Strelow said.

“We have such a strong and exciting history and the Rockhampton River Festival brings this alive with creativity and pizazz.

“Quay Street will be finished in time for the River Festival and I cannot think of a more suitable spot for this years’ theme.”

Regional Promotions Event Coordinator Bev Marston said this year’s event will be the most creative by far and the ticketed events are sure to prove that.

“The ticketed events for Rockhampton River Festival have just gone on sale with each event being positively impressive and enchanting,” Ms Marston said.

“Speigelesque is our opening show on Friday 14 July and offers a tantalising taste of what’s to come. This is a one-off opportunity to delight in the world of burlesque where song, dance and slapstick collide.

“Step into the underworld of the 1920’s where the law of the day created an atmosphere of rebellion combined with glitz with our Prohibition Party on Friday 14 July.

“Then join us on Saturday under the dome or on the terrace on the beautiful Customs House for live music, dancing, hors d’oeuvres, showgirls and a glamour photo booth at the River Festival Gatsby Soiree.

“Or settle into Sunday at Miss Fisher’s Afternoon Tea where you can enjoy company and conversation over an exquisite array of meticulously crafted sweet treats and delicate sandwiches.”
