Are you busy pruning, potting and preparing for the 2016 Spring Garden Spectacular?

Rockhampton Regional Councillor and gardening guru Neil Fisher said now was the time to get nominations in for the chance to be crowned Grand Champion.

“There’s no doubt that our Region’s avid gardeners will be quite busy right now ensuring their plants will be in top condition and ready for judging in about three weeks,” Cr Fisher said.

“Our judges will be out from the first week of Spring, which will be the perfect time for gardeners to showcase all the colour and magic their plants will bring.

“It’s not too late to get entries in so I’m really encouraging residents to give it a go. I know there are some amazing and passionate gardeners who work incredibly hard to produce such wonderful gardens and I’d love them to be part of the Spring Garden Spectacular.”

Entry is open to gardeners from across the Rockhampton Region. Entrants can nominate their gardens in ten categories, allowing a wealth of skills and diverse styles to be shown.

One worthy gardener will take home the title of Grand Champion with each category winner receiving a $250 gift voucher.

It’s easy to enter! You can enter online at www.rrc.qld.gov.au or hard copy entry forms are available from Rockhampton Regional Council Customer Service Centres.

Judging will take place between Wednesday 31 August and Friday 2 September 2016.
